A.M.
Trimmed baulk. Levelled area around stones and defined around them (E78-78/S21). Excavated in the areas of loci 4 and 9. Excaavtion of Locus 4 was begun at a depth of approximately 34.5 cm b.d., while Locus 9 was begun at an elevation of 29.5 cm below datum.
While levelling in Locus 9 flecks of orange, white and gray were found interspersed among the yellowish soil. Soil continued top yield little materials however.
Removed stump which was sitting atop line of stones. An account of all recovered material will be recorded in P.M. section.
P.M.
Continued to level soil in the area of loci 9 and 10, meters E78-79/S21, and also in Locus 4. No material recovered. Trimmed baulk in preparation to draw sections of eastern and southern baulks.
Found 3 pieces of pottery and 2 pieces of terracotta during process of trimming baulk in meters E78-79/S21. These finds are thus included in the Locus 7 designation.
