Continued hand picking and using trowels to define the extent of the bedrock feature. Soil consistent with Locus 11 and still with carbon inclusions. Inclusions appear to be decreasing, and bedrock slightly curving inward. Some chalky white and grey soil appearing in the eastern portion mottling the Locus 11 soil. Some small rocks 1-2cm and others 4-6cm being removed.

Still hand picking in Locus 11 around the bedrock and removing soil. Locus 11 remaining consistent and still carbon included. Some chalky white and grey soil also still in the east edge. Small rocks appearing, especially in the west edge, but no sign yet of the bedrockÂ’s end or a bottoming out. It was decided to stop digging for the bottom extent of the bedrock and to close the trench. The sides of the bedrock were defined and the soil cleaned from the trench. Remains consistent with Locus 11 . Preparing to take closing photos and elevations in the morning, as wells as another soil sample and final drawings made.
