Due to rain overnight, work restricted this morning to Locus 4 . Hand picks and trowels used to level down the baulk wall between CA 72's 2012 and 2013 boundary as well as to excavate the roots systems of the remaining stumps. Small concentrations of terra cotta, pottery, bone, slag, and vitrified terra cotta being found. While cleaning the baulk away a possible crucible fragment and rocchetto were recovered.

One bucket sieved and no artifacts recovered. Work continued in Locus 4 , especially concentrating around the tree stumps and leveling the northern two meters. The large stump removed as well as several large roots. Area beneath the stump pick axed lightly, sorted, and cleaned. One large fragment of slag found.

In the northern meter of Locus 4 several fragments of pithos removed and the soil beneath them leveled. In that area two fragments of strap handle with an ancient break recovered.
The fragments of pithos removed from Locus 4 were found to join with fragments recovered in Locus 1 and Locus 2 which directly overlaid Locus 4 and were made a supplemental find.

With the trench sufficiently dried out work was carried out in Locus 4 , 5 , and 6 simultaneously. Work in Locus 4 focused on carefully lowering and leveling the southern meter with hand picks and trowels, with soil sorted into buckets. The work in Locus 5 focused on defining the large root system exposed near the western boundary of Locus 5 with the intention of exposing it enough to remove it at some point in the future. Work in Locus 6 consisted of using hand picks and trowels to carefully lower the level of the southern meter, while work was simultaneously executed in the northernmost meter of Locus 6 at the boundary with CA 73. This consisted of using a trowel to carefully define the rock features
that extend from CA 73. All three loci will have every third bucket of sorted soil sieved. Baulk walling executed along the eastern wall in Locus 6 .
A fragment of slag was found in the southern portion of Locus 6 .

Locus 4 contains small concentrations of bone and terra cotta. Locus 5 contains small concentrations of pottery and bone. Locus 6 contains small concentrations of pottery, bone, and vitrified terra cotta.
A bucket was sieved from Locus 6 and one fragment of pottery was recovered. A bucket from Locus 4 was sieved and no artifacts were found. Worked antler was found in Locus 4 .
