Opening elevations were taken.

NW (0 N/S, 80 W), 29.87m AE

NE (0 N/S, 75 W), 29.75m AE

SE (5 S, 75 W), 30.01m AE

SW (5 S, 80 W), 30.10, AE

A first pick pass was made, starting in the center of the trench and stretching 1 meter north.

A fragmented line of 4 rocks are present in the center of the trench with a north – south orientation. Each rock is about 20cm x 20cm. There is no visible continuity between the rocks at this time.

43cm east of the southern-most rock are barely protruding points from a rock(s?) below soil in a near-perpendicular line. It appears about 60cm in length (?) and 20cm (?) in width. At this time, there is no evident correlation to indicate a rock feature.

Slag fragment (4 pieces)

A piece of slag was found in the northeast quarter of the trench. Due to modern breaks, it is evident

the fragment was broken into 4 pieces with the previous pick pass.

Iron Nail

An iron nail was found in the northeastern quarter of the trench.

A second pick pass was made in the northern 4/5 part of the trench.

A third pick pass was made along the northern boundary of the trench.

Handpicks were used to level the surface of the trench.

Another pick pass was made from the southern boundary, stretching a meter north.
