Grids Q-R/55-56 were taken down to 65 cm below surface at Q/57. Soil in this area is moist, hard-packed and granulated. Four tree stumps were removed from this area. Pottery was not abundant in this cut - a few pieces of assorted fabrics were found. Architectural tile fragments were much more common. Roughly two cassette of tiles were filled.

Q-R/54 was taken down to a 65 cm level. Grid 54/55 produced a profusion of architectural terracottas from the Upper Building, including a fragment of frieze plaque and another of a rosette. In addition to these, an oddly colored piece of bronze was found in R/54. The colors of this piece were blue, green, and purple. Cover and pan tile fragments were frequent finds. Pottery and bone were less frequent. P/54-56 was also taken down to 65 cm level. O/56 was taken down to 40 cm level. Q-R/56 was continued down to the 80 cm mark.
