Trench Layout
An area of CB was cleared for excavation. Coordinates for base points were taken using a transit and trench lines were strung using triangulation on an arbitrary grid based on the location of trenches from the initial years of excavation at Poggio Civitate at the Archaic Building. A datum point at an elevation of 24.58 meters was configured using a transit.
CB-62 is a 3x2 meter trench. The trench lies on a slight incline and is directly north of by about one meter.
