Work continued in grids I/33-35, T-19. At this point the profile of cut I/31-35 (T-19) became evident. Three strata: dark brown, red plaster-burnt earth, and yellow gray (from top to bottom, respectively).
Pottery in the yellow-gray stratum was extremely scarce. Most of the material seems to have been concentrated in the red plaster-burnt earth stratum.
- Find #1
- T-18 K/27
- Piece of painted Italo-Corinthian ware
Work also continued in grid K-L/27, excavating the yellow earth stratum below the level of the foundation wall. Again, the sherds of pottery, mostly "redware," were abundant.
2 boxes of tile dumped.
Work was completed in grids I/31-35 (T-19). The area was cleaned and the south wall (31-35) was cleaned and brushed. On top of the wall, perhaps used as a foundation topping, were numerous tiles.
