Munsell: 7.5 YR 3/2 Dark Brown
Description: Locus 1 is considered a topsoil deposit measuring the entire trench, 3m x 3m. The deposit was composed of dark brown, compact soil with small to medium-sized rocks and many roots. The soil of Locus 1 breaks into large clumps. Excavation uncovered tile, plaster, pottery, vitrified terracotta, and bone. The eastern half of Locus 1 became the focus as more material was recovered here. Locus 1 was closed when a lighter brown, yellow-ish soil deposit was revealed.

Munsell: 7.5 YR 3/2 Dark Brown
Description: A topsoil deposit in the second locus of the trench, an eastern extension, measuring 2m x 3m. The deposit was composed of dark brown, compact soil with small to medium-sized rocks and many roots. Excavation uncovered tile, plaster, pottery, vitrified terracotta, and bone. In the eastern 0.90 m, a bedrock outcropping was revealed. Locus 2 is the same as and abuts Locus 1. Once Locus 2 reached the elevation of Locus 1 and revealed a similar lighter, yellow-ish deposit, it was closed.

Munsell: 10YR 5/3
Description: Locus 3 lays below the eastern section of Locus 1 and the westernmost section of Locus 2, in which the most material was recovered and the soil change was noticed. Soil was compact, clay-like, and yellow-brown, yielding significant quantities of relatively well-preserved pottery sherds, bone fragments, and sections of charcoal. It is likely that this layer is the product of erosion, and thus, the context is not considered secure. Once excavation revealed a darker brown, very compact, more charcoal-included soil, Locus 3 was closed. Locus 3 is the same as Locus 6, and abuts Locus 6. Locus 3 overlies Locus 5.

Munsell: 10YR 4/2
Description: Locus 4 lies below Locus 2 and consists of the bedrock outcropping that extends 90 cm from the eastern baulk. There is no evidence of human modification or use of the bedrock. Soil is compact, silty, and brown. Little to no material was recovered. Once the bedrock was articulated and soil removed, Locus 4 was closed.

Munsell: 7.5 YR 3/2
Description: Locus 5 underlies Locus 3 and is the same as and abuts Locus 7. There were many small to medium-sized stones and tree roots. Soil was dark grey-brown and mottled with charcoal inclusions and flecks of what may be plaster or terracotta. Soil was very compact. Animal byproducts, such as bone, worked bone, jaw fragments, and teeth were found. In addition, shells, pottery, weaving equipment, and a fibula were also recovered. No architectural features were found to explain the material assemblage. Charcoal samples and a soil sample were taken for further analysis. When excavation revealed a lighter, more yellow deposit of untouched soil, the locus was closed. Two large sherds of pottery and a bone lay flat on this new deposit, further suggesting a change in locus. Due to the natural lens created by the bedrock and lack of architectural features as an explanation of the material, it is likely this was utilized as a midden.

Munsell: 10 YR 5/3
Description: Locus 6 lies below the western section of Locus 1 and is equal to and abuts Locus 3. Locus 6 overlies Locus 7. Soil was compact, clay-like, and yellow-brown, yielding significant quantities of pottery sherds, and bone fragments. Moreover, Locus 6 had many small rocks and roots. Locus 6 revealed a bedrock outcropping in the western meter that slopes down from west to east. It is likely that this layer is the product of erosion, and thus, the context is not considered secure. Once excavation revealed a darker brown, very compact, more charcoal-included soil, Locus 6 was closed.

Description: Locus 7 underlies Locus 6 and is the same as and abuts Locus 5. There were many small to medium-sized stones and tree roots. Soil was dark grey-brown and mottled with charcoal inclusions and flecks of what may be plaster or terra cotta. Soil was very compact. Animal byproducts such as bone, cut bone, a bone bead, partial jaws, and teeth were found. In addition, pottery, metal fragments, and an obsidian flake were recovered. No architectural features were found to explain the material assemblage. Excavation revealed two large sections of bedrock in the southwestern 1.5 m of Locus 7. The bedrock slopes down from west to east. Due to the natural lens created by the bedrock and lack of architectural features as an explanation of the material, it is likely this was utilized as a midden. When excavation revealed a lighter, more yellow deposit of untouched and sterile soil, the locus was closed.
