Q-U/58 was brought down to the 95-100 cm level.  This cut takes us to roughly 20 cm above a plaster pack in grid U/59.  One full cassetta of tile and plaster was dumped.  Over two tall latte boxes of assorted pottery were filled.  Two pieces of bronze and much bone was found.  A large piece of terracotta from U/58 was found.  The function of it is unknown at present.  One half of a rocchetto was found also.  Soil in this cut reveals heavy carbon content.

P.M.

U/58 was taken down to the level of plaster pack in U/59.  The soil contained much rock - some apparently resting on the surface of the plaster, which continues into this grid from U/58.  Over one half of a latte box of pottery was filled.  Many bone fragments were found as well.

95-100 cm cut was continued in Q-T/57.  Assorted pottery and tile fragments (some burned) were found.  Moulded bucchero fragments

were unusually frequent.
